(DAYTON, OHIO)… Greater Dayton Regional Transit Authority CEO Robert Ruzinsky has recently promoted Brandon Policicchio to the position of deputy chief executive officer. “Brandon is a true public transit professional who leads with a passion for excellence,” Ruzinsky said. “I have been proud to watch him grow and advance within our organization and within the industry.”
Policicchio brings more than a decade of executive leadership experience in transit to the position, most recently serving as the agency’s chief customer and business development officer.
As deputy CEO, Policicchio will be responsible for day-to-day departmental functions and all activities in each of the agency’s six primary work groups: transportation, finance, capital, maintenance, labor relations and customer and business development.
“My priority as deputy is meeting our customers and employees where they are, listening, and improving our service and organization together,” Policicchio said.
Since joining RTA in 2012 as the deputy chief operations officer, he has advanced through key operational and customer focused roles, consistently driving organizational improvement and innovation.
Policicchio has led the development of new routes and service expansions, launched Ohio’s first on-demand mobility partnership, implemented the Tapp Pay contactless fare system and positioned RTA as the first U.S. transit agency with 100 percent cashless onboard payments.
Policicchio is deeply engaged in the community, currently serving on the Bike Miami Valley Board, the Montgomery County Maternal and Infant Health Task Force, the Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission Technical Advisory Council, Downtown Dayton Business Partnership Working Committee, Five Rivers MetroParks’ Dayton Riverfront Plan Steering Committee and the Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission Human Services Transportation Council.
He previously served on the Dayton Public Schools Taskforce in 2018, the Board of Advisors of the Miami Valley Urban League and the Miami Valley Digital Divide Advisory Group.
His work has been nationally recognized in the transit industry. He was named an Ohio Public Transit Association Rising Star in 2024 and named to Mass Transit’s 40 Under 40 list in 2016.
Policicchio holds a Bachelor of Science degree from The Ohio State University.
