RTA adjusts routes for St. Patrick’s Day road closures

(DAYTON, OHIO)… Due to road closures along Wayne Avenue for St. Patrick’s Day celebrations, the Greater Dayton RTA will be adjusting Routes 4 and 12 starting Thursday, March 16, and lasting through Friday, March 17.

Wayne Avenue will be closed between Fifth and Bainbridge streets for the annual St. Patrick’s Day celebration at the Dublin Pub restaurant. The reroutes will begin on Thursday at approximately 3 p.m. and last all day Friday. Regular bus routing will resume at the beginning of the service day on Saturday, March 18.

There will be no through traffic — northbound or southbound — on Wayne Avenue between Bainbridge and Fifth streets. Starting Thursday, March 16, eastbound Route 4 will deviate onto Fifth Street, Keowee Street and Xenia Avenue to go around the closure. The westbound Route 4 reroute will be in reverse.

On Friday, March 17, southbound Route 12 will use Washington Street, Warren Street, Buckeye Street and Wayne Avenue to go around the closure with the northbound reroute going in reverse.

St. Patrick’s Day partygoers who want to be safe and not worry about parking near the party can use the RTA and easily plan their trip to the festivities by using the Transit app.
