RTA extends weekly open interviews for bus drivers, transit ambassadors at Longworth offices

(DAYTON, Ohio)… The Greater Dayton Regional Transit Authority (RTA) will continue hosting weekly open interviews for bus drivers and transit ambassadors at its Longworth offices in Dayton through Saturday, October 8, 2022.

The open interviews will be held every Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at RTA’s offices at 600 Longworth St., Dayton, Ohio. Evening hours and weekend hours will be offered.

The RTA has more than 80 openings for bus drivers, and is hiring for both its traditional CDL big bus service and its non-CDL Connect paratransit service. The starting wage for CDL bus drivers is $18 per hour and rises to $30 an hour after 7 years. Non-CDL drivers start at $15.75 per hour. Transit ambassador start at $15.75 per hour. In addition to starting pay, RTA offers outstanding benefits, including: a 14% annual contribution to your state pension account; up to $26,000 a year toward family medical insurance; dental insurance; paid time off; access to on-site fitness centers; and a great team atmosphere where you are respected and valued for your contributions. The agency is requiring a completed COVID vaccine for all new hires.

All who are interested are encouraged to attend these open interviews. A complete list of open positions with job descriptions and applications will be available at 600 Longworth Street during these times. Once an application is completed an interview will be conducted. No commercial driving experience is necessary. The RTA’s training program will provide new hires with the essential skills needed to succeed on the job. Applicants are encourage to bring a copy of their resume with them to the interview.
