(DAYTON, Ohio) — No matter the time, day, or conditions, Greater Dayton RTA drivers are out on the roadways making sure thousands of customers get to where they need to be. RTA operators are essential to keeping our community moving. For their hard work, the RTA will celebrate its 275 transit drivers on Friday, March, 18, 2022 as part of national “Transit Driver Appreciation Day.”
Through the ups and downs of the worldwide pandemic, RTA operators have been here for you providing essential trips to customers. RTA drivers connect your friends, family, and neighbors to work, school, the grocery store, and medical appointments – all with safety as a top priority. The RTA is grateful for their hard work and dedication to our passengers and to the community.
The agency will be honoring all of its drivers internally, and encourages riders to say “thank you” either verbally or by handing out “thank you” notes. The nationally-recognized day will also be documented on social media.
Riders can use the RTA call center hotline at 937-425-8300 to share commendations for RTA drivers throughout the year or email the notes to @email. Customers can also share their stories with us on social media: the agency’s Twitter is @GDRTA, Facebook is Greater Dayton RTA, and Instagram is @Iriderta.
