Santa makes final appearance aboard RTA’s Holiday Bus on Christmas Eve

(DAYTON, OHIO) – Before Santa must head back to the North Pole to prepare for his biggest night of the year, the jolly fellow will take a final ride on RTA’s Holiday Bus on Christmas Eve, Saturday, Dec. 24, 2022.

On Christmas Eve, Santa will be on board the Route 2 from 9:17 a.m. to 11:24 a.m., giving children and their parents one last chance to let him know what they want for Christmas. Santa will pass out candy canes to passengers, who share their last-minute wish lists with him. Since this is a weekend ride, those wanting to visit Santa one last time can ride for free.

Even after Christmas is over, the Holiday Bus will continue to spread yuletide cheer throughout the Miami Valley until Dec. 31, 2022, with the bus running a different route each day. The entire bus schedule can be found here. You can also track this bus live with RTA’s RideTime technology here.

Free weekend rides will continue through Sunday, Jan. 1, 2023, and free rides after 5 p.m. on weekdays will continue through Friday, Dec. 30, 2022. These apply to both fixed-route and RTA Connect paratransit services.

Throughout the holiday season, all routes will run a regular schedule seven days a week. On Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, RTA will run its regular service hours.
