(DAYTON, OHIO) … In observance of the Christmas and New Year’s holidays, the Greater Dayton RTA will run a Sunday service schedule on all routes on Friday, Dec. 25 and Friday, Jan. 1.

The RTA will run its regular service hours on Christmas Eve, Thursday, Dec. 24, and on New Year’s Eve, Thursday, Dec. 31. RTA Connect Paratransit services will also follow the same timeframes of its weekend services through the holidays. The Flyer will not run on Christmas Day or New Year’s Day in observance of the holidays.

The RTA Customer Service Call Center will operate under its regular hours on Christmas and New Year’s Day from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Santa will be making a special appearance on Christmas Eve aboard RTA’s holiday bus, giving children and their parents one last chance to let the Big Guy know what they want for Christmas during their essential trip. Customers can also receive a free holiday mask at Santa’s Bus Stop located on the bus. Santa will be aboard the holiday bus on Route 4 from 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. on Dec. 24. Then he’s off to get ready for the big day!

The holiday bus will continue running regular routes through Dec. 31. This year, the holiday bus features a masked Santa Claus as a friendly reminder to wear a mask while using public transportation. Inside the bus, it features holiday music and decorations to help riders get into the holiday spirit. The holiday bus will run on Routes 18 & 19 on Christmas Day and Route 11 on Dec. 26. The entire holiday bus schedule can be found at www.i-riderta.org/santa.
