The Greater Dayton Regional Transit Authority (RTA) is the public transit agency that citizens count on in Montgomery and parts of western Greene Counties.
RTA operates diesel and electric trolley buses, along with a fleet of demand response vehicles. There are over 3,000 stops, on over 20 routes throughout the region. All buses include bike racks and are wheelchair accessible.

RTA received the Triennial Review - Achievement of Excellence award from the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) in 2010, 2013, 2016 and 2019.
The Triennial Review is conducted every three years and includes an in-depth examination of 17 different areas, including safety and security, finance, asset management, Americans with Disabilities Act compliance, procurement, public participation requirements, and others.
During the review, the FTA will issue findings where a transit agency in not in compliance with federal regulations. Hundreds of findings are possible and during all three previous reviews RTA had no findings.
