RTA thanks region's weather heroes for efforts during historic weather event

(DAYTON, OHIO)…The Miami Valley experienced a recording-breaking snowfall over a 24-hour period and RTA wants to recognize and thank the region’s weather heroes.
This includes all cities, townships, county and DOT winter weather response teams who planned and prepared ahead of the storm, operated equipment during the snowfall, and supported post-storm clearing to keep the main roads passable.
“This amazing group is now working to clear secondary and side streets. I have never seen such a well-coordinated and executed effort,” said RTA CEO Bob Ruzinsky.
Due to their efforts, and the efforts of RTA drivers and RTA’s support team, RTA was able to continue operating, providing an essential lifeline for residents traveling to and from work, medical appointments, and other critical destinations.
Weather heroes also include all first responders, police, fire, medical personnel, and others. Those individuals have worked tirelessly to keep the community safe and alive during this historic weather event.
Finally, thank you to the media who accurately predicted what happened, properly warned the region of what was coming, and encouraged individuals to plan to stay home and safe when possible.
Working together, our Miami Valley Weather Heroes made a difficult situation manageable, and we are all better for their collective efforts.
