Proposed service changes

The Route 6 will no longer operate on the section of SR 48 between Stroop Road and Shroyer Road. Instead, it will travel along Shroyer Road and Stroop Road to access SR 48, creating a more efficient route while maintaining transit service in the higher ridership area of that corridor. Route 6 will also no longer operate on Loop Road. Instead, it will remain on SR 48, creating a more direct and efficient route while maintaining transit access to the Loop Road area through the expanded Route 17.

On the north end, Route 12 will eliminate the one-way trip on Curundu Avenue to establish more efficient and effective routing. Heading south, the route will bypass the Delco Park loop and travel directly north and south along Woodman Drive to streamline travel through the corridor. The route will then extend along Stroop Road to serve the Kettering Recreation Center, covering a portion of the discontinued Route 28, before laying over at the Meijer off Stroop Road and Wilmington Pike.
 

The X12 will be added on the north end of the Route 12. It will run along the existing Route 12 from downtown to the Northwest Transit Center but bypass the Olive Road loop and Main Street loop in Trotwood. It will include coverage along North Broadway Street and Shiloh Springs Road to and from the Northwest Transit Center that the North Community Connector covered.

Route 17 is expanding to bring new service to Centerville. The revised route travels north and south along Wilmington Pike between Kettering and Centerville, continues down Clyo Road to Alex Bell Road, and heads west to SR 48 before returning to its current route. Route 17 will no longer serve SR 48 between Stroop Road and Alex Bell Road. Riders traveling through this section should use Route 6.

This new alignment expands transit service to portions of the growing Cornerstone area and introduces service along sections of Clyo Road and Alex Bell Road that are not currently served by RTA, improving access to employment, shopping, medical services and other destinations.

From Shroyer Road, the Route 17 will now travel along Stroop Road to Wilmington Pike to replace part of the discontinued Route 28. Additionally, the rerouted Route 6 will now run along a portion of Stroop Road to complement the change.

After 6:30 p.m., buses will bypass a segment of the route via I-675 from SR 725 and Far Hills Avenue to Wilmington Pike and I-675.
