On Aug. 31, the Greater Dayton Regional Transit Authority (RTA) is launching a new express route that will jet riders off to the National Museum of the United States Air Force and beyond.
The Air Force Museum is one of the largest tourist and entertainment attractions in the area averaging one million visitors a year. The new Route X6 is designed to provide a quick, reliable and affordable transportation option for people looking to experience all the attractions the museum has to offer.
Route X6 will run seven days a week from 8:45 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. to coincide with the Air Force Museum's hours of operation and will have a frequency of less than 40 minutes.
It will travel through the downtown corridor making stops at the recently opened hotels before traveling along Main Street and hopping on State Route 4 to the museum. From there, it will travel along Harshman Road before turning onto Airway Road and heading to Wright State University.
